Welcome to Silk Way and Yoshkar-Ola!
Possible concerns about going to Russia
Here we would like to clarify some most common concerns or worries people might have about travelling to Russia. We know that now there are a lot of information on TV and in the internet about situation going on in our country and its relationships with other countries but it’s only one side of the same coin.
- Right now the political relationships of Russia with other countries is far from being perfect, that’s why it’s not the time to go on a tourist trip to Russia now.
We can assure you that there are no military actions, no protests in the streets of any kind and Russia is one of the safest countries for foreign people. You will be accompanied by a guide during the whole trip, we can guarantee high service and friendly welcoming here. But, of course like in any other country, especially if you’re going to a big city, you should have a common sense and simply be careful.
- It’s very difficult to get the Russian visa.
It’s true there is a certain list of people from EU and US that can’t go to Russia as well as the Russian list of people that can’t go to western countries. But it only concerns government officials and doesn’t have anything to do with simple citizens like you and us who just want to travel. There was hardly a case of visa refusal to a simple foreign tourist.
- The touristic market in Russia is in a poor condition as to the multiple bankruptcies this summer, I’d better save my money and not go.
Unfortunately, it’s true that the Russian tourist industry was shaken this year and a lot of Russian citizens who booked tours abroad had to deal with it.
With us, you can be sure that your money is safe. Silk Way travel agency is established according to the laws of Russian Federation and hold a valid insolvency insurance. Read more about our financial guarantee.
- Sanctions affected everything in Russia, how can I enjoy my trip with such restrictions?.
Yes, there are some reciprocal sanctions in different spheres of life. It may affect the economy of Russia, as well as the western countries, but as a tourist, you probably won’t even notice them. As for food – you can still find different cuisines from all over the world, not to mention national Russian food, which definitely is worth trying. As for money, you can still use your credit cards in every shop in Russia. Russian rouble rate is falling right now and it gives you a great opportunity to save your money. Today your expenses would be 25% less in comparison with the last year.
- I’m not a fan of Russian politics and don’t want to support their economy by spending my money there.
We sincerely respect your point of view. On the other hand, we believe there could be different angles of one and the same situation and it’s better to come and see everything with your eyes and judge from your personal experience. Also, Russia has traditions and culture that have been forming for centuries. They are worth learning about and are free from any politics.
We wish you to enjoy your stay in Russia and Mari El to the full! You are more than welcome here!
