What city is the best to start an acquaintance with Russia with? Of course, its the capital of Russia Moscow!

This city can be so different that even those people who have lived here for the whole life, dont know everything about it. During your city tour you will see how different Moscow be: its history is spread on its streets.

Your travel will start at the Red Square by the Kremlin and a little later you will find yourself in the busiest and most interesting streets of the city: Tverskaya Street and the New Arbat. You will find out how the Cathedral of Christ the Savior was erected, ruined and reconstructed again. You will see the St. Basils Cathedral that according to the legend astonished Ivan the Terrible so much that he made the architects blind so that they wouldnt create something as beautiful again.

You will see the city from its highest point the Sparrow Hills its easy to see the whole city from this viewing spot. You will visit the center squares where, at different periods of time, revolts, fairs, peoples celebrations, executions and parades took place.

Day 3 (Moscow)
Breakfast in the hotel.

Excursion tour of the Kremlin, the Armory and the Dormition Cathedral.

Today Moscow Kremlin is one of the biggest museums in the world. Its a historical and cultural center of Russia.

The Kremlin is surrounded by the Kremlin wall and twenty Kremlin Towers. Each tower is unique by its architecture and used to serve a certain goal. During your Kremlin tour you will learn about the history beginning form 1320, Grand Dukes Kremlin, the Kremlin as a residence of tsars, emperors, the center of Soviets and the Kremlin of our days.

Inside the Kremlin walls you will see several historically important churches and cathedrals. The most important one of them is considered to be the Dormition Cathedral. It was built in 1475-1479 by the architect Aristotel Fioravanti and represents a perfect combination of Renaissance architecture and traditions of old Russia.

Also, the excursion tour of the Kremlin includes visiting the Armory. This museum is located in the original armory building where arms and jewelry has been produced and stored for almost a century, from 1508. The Kremlin Armory has become the first public museum in Russia in 1806 and during the whole time of its existence has been developing the collection with new exhibits.

You will see an amazing collection of gold, silver and enameled items, Faberge Easter eggs, carriages and arms decorated with precious stones and many other things.

Day 4 (Kazan)
Arrival to Kazan. Meeting with the representative of the travel company.

Breakfast in a caf? of the city.

City tour of Kazan and Kazan Kremlin (3 hours).

You will have an amazing tour of the city of Kazan with the view of the main city attractions: the Church of Exaltation of the Holy Cross where, returned from Vatican, the wonder-working list of Kazan Gods Mother is kept. The excursion route lies through Kazan State University campus (ex emperor one), the Kazan Arbat thats how they call Bauman Street in Kazan, Peterburgskaya Street, the Cloth Quarter.

You will visit Tugan Avalym complex a reconstructed traditional Tatar village in the center of the modern city, youll see Nobility assembly, Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Freedom Square, National-Cultural center Kazan (panoramic view), the concert hall named after Saydashev.

Usually Kazan Kremlin leaves the biggest impression youll see it for yourself. You will also see Kul Sharif mosque and Annunciation Cathedral.

In the evening:

Excursion night tour Kazan lights 1,5 hours.

A green tree in the Palace of Landlords, a fabulous view of the millions of colored fountain splashes, dancing to the music of the famous Tatar composers, a fairytale castle The Puppet theatre, a big cooking pot on a slow fire a new building for City registration office, and the biggest in Europe media-front of the stadium Arena boggles the imagination!

And at the end of this tour you will launch your fortune paper lanterns into the night sky. This tradition is oriental but lives in the modern Kazan. The higher the lantern goes the more chances your wish will have to come true!

Day 5 (Kazan)
Breakfast in the hotel.

Meeting at the hall of the hotel, transfer to the place of excursion.

An out-of-town excursion A legendary land to the Vergin Monastery of Raifa.

The Virgin Monastery of Raifa is one of the biggest functional monasteries founded in the XVII century by hermit Philaret about 27 kilometers from Kazan. At this excursion you will learn how in the XVII XIX centuries the ensemble of the Monastery of Raifa was formed. The ensemble includes the Cathedral of Gods Mother of Georgia where the Georgian wonder-working icon of Gods Mother is kept, the Trinity cathedral, The Church of Holy Fathers Slain at Sinai and Raithu, the smallest church in Europe St. Sofia Church.

Besides the architecture, you can admire the panoramic view of Raifa lake with its well-known not croaking frogs, take some healthful water from the holy string, tell the time by the amazing sun clock and do many other things.

Coming back to Kazan.

Day 6 (Yoshkar-Ola)
Breakfast in the hotel.

Checking-out, transfer to Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El republic (appr. 3 hours).

Excursion city tour of Yoshkar-Ola (3 hours).

For several years, the image of the city has changed beyond recognition. New bridges has been built, new modern cultural and administrative buildings have been created, monuments to famous historical personalities have been erected. During this city tour you will see everything for yourself and get acquainted with the most significant attractions of the city. The city will appear in two sides: historical with small buildings and quiet alleys, and newly built with squares and a modern well-developed embankment.

The city tour route starts with Obolentskiy-Nogotkov Square where, on the building of the National Art Galery, one can see the most famous Yoshkar-Ola attraction the donkey clock.

Not far from that place, there is an unspoken symbol of the city sculptural composition Yoshkin Kot. After walking along Chavain boulevard, youll find yourself on the Archangelic Quarter with the Annunciation Tower which is almost the exact replica of the Spasskaya Clock Tower in Moscow! Here you can find a corner of quietness and calmness the Italian park with the monument to Signor Lorenzo Medici. A little later you will come to the wonderful new embankment which is a great photo opportunity.

Day 7 (Cheboksary)
Breakfast in the hotel.

Transfer to one of the oldest cities on Volga river Cheboksary, Chuvashia republic (appr. 2 hours).

Meeting the group in Cheboksary with bread and salt by the musicians in national Chuvash costumes.

City tour of Cheboksary (2 hours).

During the city tour you will see:

Western hillside a historical part of the city, St Trinity monastery, Vvedenskiy Cathedral, youll go along Ivanov street, Moskovskiy prospect, Theatre embankment which is a good chance for walking and taking pictures. Then comes Leninskiy district a modern part of the city. Youll come along K. Marks street, Republic Square, Chapaev garden square, Privokzalnaya street, Lenin prospect, Gagarin prospect. In the Kalininskiy region you will see the Victory park and see the Memorial monument, the Red Square, merchant Efremov boulevard, the stones of happiness.

Day 8 (Kozmodemyansk)
Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the city of Kozmodemyansk, Mari El republic.

City tour of Kozmodemyansk (app. 2 hours).

We recommend you to have a long walk across the well-remained merchant town, where almost every house is decorated with the amazing wooden carving. Since the XVIII century and up until the revolution the town had been one of the most important timber selling centers of the country. After the river transportation gave place to railway and motor service, the town found itself far from the main roads of the country. It helped the town to preserve the atmosphere of the merchant town of the XIX century. In the Museum of Art and History by Grigoryev you can learn the history of the town, carving house decorations and other monuments to history and culture of the town. Ethnographic museum out in the open the only one in Russia right now is dedicated to national culture and way of life of the highland mari people. Also it will be interesting to visit the Museum of merchant way of life a totally reconstructed merchant mansion of the end of the XIX century where you can see, find and touch not only the personal things of the merchants family living there but also a special atmosphere of those times.
